1. Hot-press inserts changed to injection inserts
Several years ago, we received an inquiry of plastic injection mold. There were about 25 pcs copper screw need to be hot-pressed into plastic parts. After talking with client, we did build-in inserts during injection process. This way we saved one hot-press mold, also saved production cost of hot-pressing. The result is that the copper screws stayed very stable and consistent in the plastic injection part. We have made this products for years without any quality problem.
2. injection inserts changed to assembling
Last year we have another inquiry of build-in plastic injection mold. The 2 metal pins need to be injected into a small plastic injection part. Due to the small size of the metal pin, it is very difficult to put it into plastic injection mold. Finally we decided to do assembling after injection. This changes was also successful. The injection process becomes so easy. We made automatic assembling machine, insert the metal pins into plastic parts on machine. The quality is also quite well.
Sometimes the design engineer does not know the manufacturing difficulities. As OEM supplier we can try very different way to achieve the good products.
